The department was established in 2023, the main objective is to keep pace with the rapid developments in the digital communication environment witnessed worldwide due to the telecommunications and information revolution. It aims to provide programs that include new curricula in the constantly evolving field of digital communication, compensate for training gaps by making the teaching structure field-oriented, offer an enhanced educational environment with specialized training labs, create and deliver digital content, and engage with a group of local, regional, and international academics and experts, as well as, to equip students with knowledge, attitude
and skills that enable them to independently create digital content, produce their own work, and launch innovative projects in a world no longer exclusive to large institutions. The department seeks to graduate "entrepreneurial communicators" and innovators in various technological, cultural, governmental, and commercial sectors
